This blog was originally written earlier today (Saturday, March 4, 2017) on my optioneerJM blog on Word Press ~ where I find an atmosphere of support and celebration of original writing among those who write themselves.  It is the highest compliment any fledgling writer can have. Like most of us at the tail end of Baby Boomers while being drowned out by Millennials, we're trying to get ahead.  Achieve success, notoriety or acclaim.  Subsidize our career choices with our inner voices.  To help others, to help ourselves.  To exhaust our demons by writing and exhuming scars that life has left on our brains. an ORANGE logo defined  Cake wars are on fire:  claims of plagiarism unfold on Twitter.  It is a cake boss of the inauguration kind.   Sadly, if you are renowned in some way and your craft is shared online you are exposed to plagiarism. But what do you do if you are not renowned in any way, a mere blogger who shares ideas openly to help others? What if your blog logo, an orange, is used as a logo for an internal initiative by the company you work for?  How do you prove that the idea stemmed from your own creativity and borrowed or used?   The same logo I unveiled on my blog was adopted for a corporate initiative:  coincidence?  Recourse?  Aren't you glad I chose orange? Wow, this wasn't half bad.  I had to reread it because it has climbed and almost hitting the max on what's trending from optioneerJM  (second highest).   A little doldrum : the top-down has turned from the bottom-up A culture to be considered I've been quite enjoying the start of a four-day weekend.  The first day spent taking care of me.  I went for a mani-pedi.  I started a marathon of paint-ing while today I took my dog Buddy for a long walk, with ear buds setting pace to my walk and singing to my spirit.  You'd almost think that it would be classical wouldn't you?  Nahhhh, it is more rock.  Not pop music, country or ballads for me. I tend to go on about stats and such on my optioneerJM blog since that is where the conversation about social media or soME seems to have some traction.  I really started out there writing about sales primarily, then shifted to include leadership and business with social media dialogue emerging frequently. That's a tough position to be in because your golden followers, the ones who began the journey with you deserve and have earned your return loyalty and acknowledgement.   The strange part of me is I constantly seek feedback online from trusted advisors, and I can take it.  However, if it is someone looking at me, with eye contact and giving me feedback, if it isn't filtered with empathy and professionalism, I can feel attacked.
