America's crash






Good heavens.  
Is the cookie crumbling?

 I don't know which is worse:
  1. Harvey Weinstein
  2. Charlie Sheen
  3. Donald Trump's disrespect for the office of the President

What would you choose?

They're all horrible [ ref tweet as @optioneerJM ].





Here starts the debate that will fuel a media frenzy churning around like the fiercest tornado or hurricane:  this one being online in social media.

Pull up your socks, flex your fingers, because there is no way there is any winner among the candidates.

My disclaimer:  I am a 56 year old gregarious mother of 4 children, 3 girls and a boy, ages 23 to 28.  When I add in my son-in-law, we have 3 boys a male dog = 4 compared to 4 gals.  We have to all agree on topics and set boundaries because as they grow older, they are more aware of what is going on around their world, not just in their immediate sphere.

My additional disclaimer:  I am Canadian.  3rd generation from both sides with both sets of parents married for over 50 years before the couple disintegrated by loss of one partner.  White, middle class, educated.  I spent 5 years living abroad in Europe while my father served in the Canadian Military.  My eyes were opened wide from a visit to a concentration camp, far more compelling than any museum, art gallery, church or castle [which all individually carry a lot of clout].

The biggest problem I have with Trump as President is the scandal rocking Hollywood first with Harvey Weinstein, and now Charlie Sheen.  

The only metaphor or image that keeps spinning in my mind, are depicting the media as Piranhas attacking their subject [certainly in this case not a victim, good gracious!]

As my chest tightens I battle the thoughts trying to invade me.  Which is worse?  The memories or the fear of the future? Pointing out presentation pitfalls

Do you have any horror stories you relive constantly over the presentation that went haywire? I am failing superbly at staying within MINDFULness, the latest phenomenon not quite realized. (remember April 2015 when I predicted on my blog OptioneerJM that adult coloring was going to catch on and why you should too?) The interview police

There are so many great websites, blogs, articles, books out there that capture the interest of job hunters or career seekers.  You are given advice on your resume, your attitude and how to behave at the interview. Yet while there are so many of these sites that offer interviewers advice, where are the interview police?  Well, I guess between Google searches, Linked In and other sources, one can easily find out a lot about a prospective employer.   Distaste can be quick and immediate if one has a poor interview experience.  That being that the interview was unprofessional, disrespectful and disengaged. I don't think that many companies assess what they are doing about their hiring practices and how they may be treating prospective employees.  That is likely a major oversight that only is rectified when the job market switches positions:  from a buyers market perspective of employee recruiting to a sellers market from those seeking employment.
